The cross-flow air curtain generally has only one motor, which is mainly driven by the motor to drive the impeller wheel, and the wind force is directly generated by the impeller. The air volume of the cross flow air curtain is high, higher than centrifugal air curtain at the same installation height and air speed attenuation of the air curtain is slower than centrifugal air curtain.
Generally, cross flow and curtain’s installation height from 2.5 meters to 4 meters. If more than 4 meters, usually the noise will be unacceptable. Normally, because there is only one motor, under same condition, cross flow air curtain price is lower than the centrifugal air curtain.

Centrifugal air curtains usually have at least two motors, and a volute is installed outside the impeller. The motor is used to drive the impeller to generate wind pressure in the volute, and then the air is ejected from the nozzle of the volute to form an air wall. Usually Centrifugal air curtain has high air speed and lower noise than cross flow air curtain. Because centrifugal air curtain’s air speed formed by pressure in the volute, Centrifugal air curtain’s wind attenuates faster than the cross flow air curtain after leaving the air curtain.
Usually Centrifugal air curtain’s installation height is from 3.5 meters to 6 meters. Because there are usually more than two motors in a centrifugal air curtain, centrifugal air curtain price is generally higher than that of the cross flow air curtain.

Axial air curtains generally have multiple motors (for example MEIHAO axial air curtain of 0.9 meters length model has 5 motors), one motor drives one axial fan to generate wind directly, and the air speed performance is slightly weaker than that of the cross flow air curtain. Axial air curtain is an early form of air curtain, because the cost is relatively high, it is usually only used in specific areas according to customer requirements.

The air curtain generates natural wind to form a wind wall, which is used to separate the indoor and outdoor environment.

On the basis of the ambient air curtain, a heating element is installed to separate the indoor and outdoor environment and achieve a certain heating effect. Heating air curtain usually used in colder areas.
Heating air curtain can also be divided into electric heating and hot/warm water heating air curtain.
Electric heating air curtain is installed with electric heating elements in the air curtain. Meihao air curtain has two types of electric heating air curtains, one type the heating element installed at air inlet area; the other type the heating element installed at the air outlet area.
Hot/warm water heating air curtain is installed evaporator, to transfer the heat from hot water to hot air.

1) Horizontal air curtain.

According to the NSF standard, Air Curtain for customer entry shall have a minimum 8 inches (200mm) air stream depth and an air velocity of at least 600fpm (3.05M/S). The measurement point shall be at a distance of 3Ft (0.9M) above the floor.
With an Effective Air Curtain installed, the air stream should be like the following picture.

If an ineffective air curtain was installed, the air stream would be like either of the following pictures.

Infiltration, the outdoor air pressure is higher than the indoor air pressure. This will resulted in odors, dust, insects getting indoor. This can cause series damage on indoor environment and climate.

Exfiltration, the indoor air pressure is higher than the outdoor air pressure. This will lead to air leakage, and result in huge cost on energy consumption therefore more expensive energy bill than just leave the door wild open without any barrier.

Guangzhou SUNAC SNOW PARK located in Huadu District, Guangzhou; it covers an area of 75,000 square meters. It is an advanced fourth-generation indoor ski resort. Currently, it is the largest indoor ski resort in South China. The length and width of the slide are about 460*50 meters.

National Exhibition And Convention Center （Shanghai） phase 2 is under construction by SHANGHAI CONSTRUCTION GROUP.

Meihao air curtain was chosen before for National Exhibition And Convention Center （Shanghai） phase 1 total about 600pcs.After the great work between Meihao and SCG, This project is been proved to be a great success. Nodaway according to customer needs, National Exhibition And Convention Center （Shanghai）construction department planning to extend the exhibition center. Meihao air curtain has been chosen again to become the air curtain product supplier for phase 2.

1.1Please install the unit in a sturdy place to avoid any shaking, vibration or noise. The unit should be securely fixed.

1.2 Please install the unit inside the room.

1.3 Don’t install the unit too low, no less than 2.3 meters from the ground.

1.4 When the entrance is wider than the unit, it is recommended to install two or more units in parallel. In this case, provide 20-40mm gaps between the units.

1.5 Don’t allow gaps between the unit and the wall. When hanging it from the ceiling, use the enclosed ceiling braskets.

1.6 Don’t install the unit in a place where it is splashed by water, exposed to excessive steam, explosive gas or corrosive gas.

2.1.1 The mounting plate is fixed to the main body.

2.1.2 Fix the bolts in the proper position (Decide the position with the mounting plate.)

2.1.3 Install the main body
Hang the main body on the bolt as shown in fig.

2.1.4 Fit the mounting plate.

2.2.1 Proceed as per step 5.1.1

2.2.2 Fix the mounting plate in the proper positions with tapping screw.

2.3.1 The mounting plate is fixed to the main body. (Same as step 5.1.1)

2.3.2 Fixing ceiling brackets as Fig.

2.3.3 Set the mounting plate on the ceiling brackets and ensure a secure fixing with use of the bolts. Using the ceiling brackets to hang from the ceiling, the position of mounting plate can be adjusted in the limit of 100mm.

2.3.4 Using the ceiling brackets to hang from the ceiling, the position of mounting plate can be adjusted in the limit of 100mm.

2.4.1Fix the air curtain as in the procedure for installing on the concrete wall.
2.4.2 Then pipe as per Fig.
